Sierra Nevada Conservancy Board approves grants totaling $12 million
March 13, 2008 BASS LAKE, CA -- Today the Sierra Nevada Conservancy Board of Directors authorized grants totaling $11,137,242 for projects throughout the Sierra Nevada. This includes a $1 million grant to The Sierra Fund, who is serving as fiscal sponsor for a collaborative effort to purchase land on the Yuba River for public recreation, water quality and watershed protection.

The Sierra Fund is a non-profit community foundation providing philanthropic stewardship and charitable support services to support environmental conservation in the Sierra Nevada region. We partner with private donors and public agencies to increase and organize investment in the land, air, water and human resources of the Sierra Nevada.
